Caribou Coffee announces the promotion of Stacey Garry to Chief Human Resources Officer
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – APRIL 5, 2024 – Caribou Coffee, a global premium coffeehouse, proudly announces the promotion of Stacey Garry to Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). As a key member of the company’s executive leadership team, Garry will report directly to Chief Executive Officer and President John Butcher.
Garry has been an invaluable asset to Caribou Coffee since joining the team approximately a year ago as Vice President of Talent Management. In her new capacity, she will lead programs and initiatives to attract, develop and retain the workforce at corporate headquarters and in coffeehouses nationwide. She will be responsible for organizational and performance management, talent development, and ensuring the workforce has both the people and organizational capabilities to enable and ultimately deliver company strategy.
“I’m excited to take on the role of Chief Human Resources Officer and develop people strategies at Caribou Coffee that strengthen our culture, create opportunities for our team members to achieve success, and help drive strong business performance,” Garry said. “But even more, I’m honored to continue working alongside our incredible team, who show up every day for each other and our guests.”
Garry brings more than 25 years of diversified experience in human resources, store operations leadership, communications, strategy, business services, and marketing and advertising. Prior to joining Caribou Coffee, she served as Vice President of Human Resources at Five Below, where she spearheaded human resources transformation and growth initiatives. Garry’s background also includes over two decades at Target, where she held various leadership positions and led teams both domestically and globally.
“In the relatively short time she has been with us, Stacey has showcased her exceptional leadership skills and understanding of our organizational culture,” remarked Butcher. “Her dedication to fostering growth and development within our team makes her the perfect candidate for this vital leadership position.”
Garry’s promotion to CHRO underscores Caribou Coffee’s commitment to investing in its most valuable asset—its people. As the company embarks on a new chapter marked by a strategic long-term licensing agreement with JDE Peet’s, it looks to focus on its core strategy of operating and growing its retail coffeehouse business, which includes developing and supporting its workforce.
