It starts with a simple seed and ends in your cup. From cupping to brewing, your coffee goes on an incredible journey to make its way to you. Below, learn more about our process and how we ensure quality and flavor at every step.
YOUR COFFEE’S JOURNEY
CUPPING
Green coffee is roasted and evaluated by cupping, where trained tasters evaluate smell, sight and flavor, ensuring it meets our standard of excellence.
EXPORTING
Green coffee is loaded into burlap bags and containers aboard transcontinental ships carrying cargo around the world.
ROASTING
Highly trained roasters use heat and air to transform green coffee into deliciously brewable brown. The coffee’s size and sweetness increases and the darker roasts bring natural oils to the surface.
GRINDING
No matter how you brew – drip, immersion, cold brew – whole bean coffee needs grinding that’s best for the method. Fine is best for shorter methods, like drip, and coarser for longer, like cold brew.
BREWING
The brewing method changes how the coffee tastes. Acidity, flavor, sweetness, body and intensity can vary from one method to the next. Experiment with different methods to reveal your coffee’s full potential.
