Caribou Coffee supports communities during this season of giving and beyond

Each year, Caribou Coffee embraces opportunities to make a meaningful impact and support those in need. We are deeply committed to serving the communities where we operate, understanding the responsibility we have to contribute to their well-being. From supporting education to veterans to disaster relief, we are grateful for the partners and individuals who join us in making this season of giving possible.

Support in the aftermath of hurricane season

This year, the challenges brought by hurricane season inspired us to develop new ways to provide relief to those in need. Hurricanes Helene and Milton hit close to home, with some of our team members and partners living in the affected areas. We stood by them and their communities by supporting the American Red Cross in providing disaster relief as a match partner. Through sharing this partnership with our audiences, we helped raise thousands of dollars and matched those contributions for those in need, making a difficult situation a bit more bearable.

Local to our headquarters in Minnesota, we are also a match partner with an organization helping art programs in Minneapolis schools. Latitude, our design agency partner, holds an annual gratitude campaign during November to encourage and uplift incredible people and their impact in the community. This year, Latitude launched a Gratitude x Latitude DAYDREAMER collection of merchandise to support art programs in Minneapolis schools. Latitude will donate 50% of profits from every purchase of the collection and Caribou is proud to amplify this campaign as a match partner.

Throughout the country, Caribou is proud to be a supporter of Girls on the Run (GOTR). GOTR is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire young women to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experienced-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Completing a 5K at the end of the program gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals. We handed out brewed coffee, hot chocolate, and Fruit Shakers at 5K events in several cities this fall: St. Paul, Minn., Duluth, Minn., Rochester, Minn., Appleton, Wisc., and Raleigh, N.C. We love bringing our beloved beverages into our communities to engage in meaningful ways.

Helping local veterans

Just in time for Veterans Day and Thanksgiving, a handful of team members volunteered at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for a pop-up food pantry. The food pantry provides vital food assistance to more than 600 enrolled veterans and their families. Our team members volunteered to help assemble and distribute food boxes, ensuring that veterans were well-stocked and ready for the holiday ahead. District Manager Darian P. was motivated to volunteer in memory of a friend and colleague who had recently passed away unexpectedly and felt the warm welcome from the VA made it even more gratifying. “His example has inspired me to seek out more opportunities to make a difference in his memory,” said Darian. “Being able to provide support for those in need really embodies the spirit of the season and reminds me what the holidays are all about. Each of them left with a smile on their face ready for a great thanksgiving meal.”

What supporting our communities means to us

At the heart of every cup and interaction lies our purpose: Together, we create day-making experiences that spark chain reactions of good. Our purpose gives us focus every day, shaping our actions and decisions, this goes beyond our coffeehouses and into how we show up for those in need around us. As we continue to see opportunities in our communities, we’re ready to step in and step up with support.
