I tried this coffee for the first time because it was the "Dark Coffee of the Day" I actually prefer it to the Sumatra and hope it becomes a regular COD.

This is my favorite blend! It's rich and smokey. Perfect for the morning "wake-me-up" or on a crisp fall night around the fire.

This is my favorite dark roast. It has a wonderful mouth feel, no bitterness, and a heady aroma. I look forward to my first cup of the day with a good book on the porch. Well done Caribou!!

When I first saw the label I knew this was made just for me. I have a big leather chair next to a fireplace just like the picture. For flavor description - the label says it all. Move over Mocha Java I have a new favorite!

I am a die hard french to italian roast, dark dark roast coffee drinker but I tried this and like it even better. Love the smokey, hint of chocolate flavor!!!

This is the first time my wife and I have been disappointed with any of your coffee offerings. This coffee is very bland and is on par with Maxwell House or Folgers - nowhere near the normal quality and flavor we have come to expect from Caribou.

Very nice! I had never tried this but wanted something new so I purchased a bag in your Broomfield, Colorado store and made a press pot of it the very next day. It's a great dark roast without being too overpowering. The variety of flavor "hints" make it an enjoyable cup at any time of the day.

I'm a dark coffee fan. If you like Seattle's Best Italian or Starbucks' Expresso Roast THROW THEM OUT. Try this. You'll love it. Sweet Dreams are made of these. What a wonderful cup. Its by far my favorite.

My wife and I first experienced the Caribou brand while visiting Alaska. Upon our return trip to PA, however, we neglected to seek out retailers that carried this delicious brew and have been 'settling' for, and accepting the taste of other brands. But, while shopping for coffee to serve in the press box at work, I discovered, way down on a bottom shelf in the coffee aisle at Martins Grocery in Charles Town, WV, Caribou Coffee! My mind immediately went back to the wonderful vacation we had in Seward and Homer, AK, where coffee is the main drink of most of the locals, and couldn't wait to grind some for our evening card of racing. The reception from the working stiffs in the press box was a '5' bean rating and all the guys immediately got on their computers to shop for it on line (including me, it's how I got to this page).

By far the worst coffee that Caribou offers. Tastes like biting into a 2x4 and getting splinters in your mouth. Ultra dry, need to chug 8oz of water for every 1 ounce of coffee. Yuck. Go for Obsidion instead.

This coffee is Outstanding! I've tried & thoroughly enjoyed several of the darker roasts, however Mahogany is by far my favorite. Cocoa & spice and bourbon vanilla - Yum!

I love this roast. It is just a perfect wake me up in the morning, flavorful, full bodied so it feels like I'm actually drinking coffee versus weak flavored water.

Strong, full bodied flavor with just a dash of vanilla flavor to eliminate any hint of bitterness and gives it a bold, yet smooth taste. Happens to be my favorite to date.

My favorite Caribou blend...great taste and the body holds up well to cream (some of the lighter roasts seem "watery" to me and become even moreso when cream is added).

Mahogany has been my favorite since I first tasted it. I haven't tried Lacuna, but the remainder of your list exactly fits what I already know I like, and in exactly the same order. I think your test is pretty accurate :)

I love it. I was picked up a preground bag in the grocery store just to try something new. I generally do not like a dark roast, but this is delicious!I make it every morning. My usual is dunkin donuts that I grind myself, lately I have leaned towards the Mohagany.

Absolutely the best bold coffee I have ever brewed. The taste and feel of Mahogany is exactly as described, rich yet smooth with very warm undertones.
I think this is the perfect brew for those who want bold without having the bitterness or burnt taste of most other brands.

The description sounded delicious, but I knew I made a good choice when wonderful smells came from my coffee maker! Mahogany has an added spice taste that sets it apart from original blends. I would recommend this for all coffee lovers and especially those that enjoy an evening cup!

This coffee has no bitterness to it whatsoever! I am not much of a coffee connoisseur but I drink my coffee black so I really notice when the coffee is bitter and this coffee is not. It is absolutely perfect. If I had it my way, I would never drink anything else ever again.

After sampling several different coffees of the darker variety from different coffee houses, I find the Caribou's Mahogany is the top competitor. Of the dark blends, Mahogany is king.

cant have much this shop doesn't carry decaf, have to have decaf due to heart rate, like fireside also glad to reindeer back this fall convinced my sisters that their was a smother coffee then starbucks!!!!!!!!!!!

This is pretty much my favorite blend! It's rich and perfect for the morning or sitting around the fire. There's no bitterness, and the aroma is wonderful. We enjoy it while sitting and watching the birds in the back yard. Great job on this one!!

It does not get any better than this one. The rich almost sweet aroma and full, complex, luscious flavor is exquisite! There is not a time of day or meal with which it does not work and yet having it alone is the real delight. Mahogany reigns supreme!

French roast used to be what I drank because it was available at a Sam's Club where I shop. Then I decided to order Mahogany and give it a shot. It's so rich and smooth! I still like the French Roast, but must say that Mahogany is my new favorite!

Awesome coffee! One of the heartiest, richest flavors I've found. Brews up just right even with a lame coffee pot like the one at my thrifty parents house. Seriously, I doubt any serious coffee enthusiast would be disappointed with the Mahogany blend. It's just that darn good!

I once found this old brown wood table in an abandoned farm house...I dismantled and planed down the wood planks..it was deep grained brown mahogany...the name mahogany tells it all...a beautiful quality coffee, with a sweet hint of vanilla in aroma and a subtle wake up call that says..enjoy your day..no hurry...each moment is each moment...savour ....soooooo goooood.....

This is the most wonderful coffee I have ever tasted. I started buying beans when I purchased a Grind and Brew coffee maker, and I used to purchase a different brand every time so I could find what I like best. This was the only Caribou Coffee on sale at my grocery store, so I bought it and am totally hooked!! No Starbucks can compete with the wonderful flavor of this coffee.

This is perhaps the best coffee for me in the world. I have always enjoyed Daybreak, then moved to Obsidian on a whim. Daybreak for me is a "candy" coffee and Obsidian was a little too much. Mahogany sits in the middle being a sweet aftertaste yet has a bold front taste.

My friend who lives in Illinois has been telling me about how awesome Caribou coffee is for 2yrs. Last week, I saw it in my local grocery and decided to put it to the test. I must say that my husband and I were quite impressed with our purchase. We will be buying more Caribou in the future.

LOVE THIS Coffee! Normally drink Italian Roast by Starbucks, however thanks to a coupon in the Sunday paper...tried Mahogany and LOVED it so much more than Starbucks. I add white chocolate mocha by Internation Delights and the drink is delicious! Hubby drinks it straight black and Loves it. Looking forward to trying more flavs soon...hope you expand your offering at Publix and Target!

Mahogany is by far the best blend you have. I grind it at home, and when the local store is brewing it, I'm there multiple times a day.

Mahogany is my FAVORITE coffee. Not just Carabou brand, but, all-time favorite! I am an avid Starbuck's fan (Coumbian Blend). Carabou's Mahogany turned me againt that. I get the whole bean and grind it at the store. It is ALWAYS super fresh. There is only two or three blends at teh store I shop at. Thankfully Mahogany is one of them!

this coffee is perfect. its taste is amazing. there is no funny aftertaste or really bitter underlying flavor either. i just can't get enough of it literally, i'm hooked on it and it is always sold out.

Very rich and dark, but smooth not bitter or burnt tasting like many other big label coffees. Much like the label implies, as comforting as your favorite leather chair. There is no better coffee in my book.

I love dark roast coffee and this is the absolute best. My family calls me a coffee snob because I am so picky about my coffee. Mahogany is perfect.

My favorite was Fireside, which they got rid of, but this has been a nice replacement. Still a strong coffee with some sweet mellow notes.

Mahogany is my favorite coffee Caribou sells. I first discovered it when I lived in Cary. I moved away for awhile and never found anything close to it. Just a great tasting coffee, black or w/ cream and sugar.

This is one of my top 3 favorites. I use the K cups and Mahogany brews up beautifully, so rich and smooth and just a little smokey. Mahogany is something I will order year-round. It stands up nicely to a spoonful of raw or brown sugar and some milk.

This wonderful blend is tied with french roast as my second favorite bean nektar. Obsideon is still number one, but this blend has kind of an earthy feel and flavor. Very pleasent and smooth.

My favorite coffee by far. It has a subtle sweetness that balances so well with the bitter tones of the coffee. Any time I need a wake-me-up, Mahogany is my go-to friend. I do not prefer many coffees black, but this is one that I do. For an extra treat, I like to add a half pump of white chocolate and some half-and-half to the Mahogany blend.

We were Friday morning regulars at Caribou Coffee in Grand Forks & loved it when Mohogany was the dark roast of the day. It is so rich & full bodied with the most comforting aroma. We are without a coffee shop since there is no Caribou Coffee in Bismarck but enjoy Mohagany at home every morning! If you like a dark, full bodied, flavorful cup of joe, you'll love this!

I grew up drinking the native coffee in Puerto Rico,I thought this was as good as it got. I was wrong, Mahogany rates as the #1 for me.

This is my favorite coffee so far to brew in my French Press to make cafe au lait. Nice chocolate finish. I wish I could easily find the whole bean in the grocery store as the pre-ground coffee is not the best for my press. Where are your organics or shade grown? Big kudos for Rainforest Alliance!

Just tried this coffee as it was on sale at my local grocery, next to my regular Caribou blend. One sip and I am in love. The aroma is a nice blend of coffee and the outdoors. The mouth feel is smooth, the flavor is a welcome blend of dark and light, a hint of spiciness...truly like sitting in your favorite leather chair. Quite possibly my new favorite! Thank you Caribou!

This is without a doubt my favorite coffee. It really does leave me feeling as though I am seated before a cozy fireplace, tucked under a warm blanket, and relaxing into my favorite plush chair. Since I don't have a fireplace, I was forced to find a DVD of a fireplace to really complete the moment. None of it would have been possible without Mahogany in my mug.

I just had Mahogany for the first time last week and i am in love with it. It has a rich and satisfying flavor. I buy the K-cups all the time. I am really sad to hear they are going out of business as I HATE the burnt starbucks taste and we don't need another one of those coffee houses (Peet's)

My parents live in Michigan, and one of my daughter's and my favorite things to do when we visit is go to Caribou, and stock up on coffee to take back to Kentucky & Florida with us! We are so sad the stores are closing! Mahogany is the one I always buy for myself, and I have pot brewing now - thank goodness I'll still be able to order on line. Will miss you guys and your marvelous stores!

Loved this coffee. Great for any day, but especially great for a day at home in my comfiest chair with a fantastic book. The hint of molasses is wonderful and it is great alone or with a hint of creamer. Fantastic smell, great flavor. I would defiantly recommend it.

This is one of the smoothest darker blends I've had, and I've had many from many different brands (Starbuck's, etc.). This blows Starbuck's away hands down.
